Ground Lamb Pita

I am constantly trying to do different things in the kitchen.  I did this because I had some ground lamb that needed to be used.DSC_0368

  • 1lb Ground Lamb
  • 1 Clove Garlic Minced
  • 1/2ts Molasses
  • 1/2 cup chopped White Onion (Halved)
  • 1ts (each) Thyme and Rosemary
  • A dash of Worcestershire Sauce
  • Dash of Gun Powder Seasoning (found at our local market.)
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Pitas (I like to only do 1/2 pita per person)
  • 1 Cucumber chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • Tzatziki Sauce
  1. In a mixing bowl add raw lamb, garlic, 1/4 cup of white onion, GP seasoning, thyme, rosemary, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Incorporate with your hands. DSC_0369
  2. Put meat mix in a skillet on medium heat.  Add Molasses.  Cook until done.  Drain and return to pan.
  3. Open each half of pita and put a scoop of meat mix in the pocket. (leave enough space for cucumbers and tomatoes) DSC_0374
  4. Add a little chopped onion if you desire. (this is the reason for reserving 1/4 cup) DSC_0375
  5. add a dollop of Tzatziki Sauce sauce and then top the pita with the cucumbers and tomatoes.
  6. ENJOY! DSC_0378
